- UK Finance, the new trade organisation representing the finance and banking industry operating in the UK, has announced the appointment of Jackie Bennett OBE as its new head of mortgages.
Currently deputy head of compliance at The Northview Group, in her new role at UK Finance, Bennett will be responsible for leading the trade body’s mortgage policy development. She will join the organisation in February next year.
Prior to joining the Northview Group, she was compliance conduct manager at GE Money Home Lending.
- The Association of British Insurers has announced the appointment of Mario Mazzocchi as the new chair of its Long-Term Savings Committee.
Mazzocchi is the current chief operating officer, insurance and wealth at Lloyds Banking Group, and succeeds Standard Life CEO Barry O’Dwyer as the new ABI chair.
- Alliance Trust Savings has appointed Ron Baxter, a former senior advisor at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and at the Prudential Regulatory Authority/Bank of England as chair of its board.
Baxter spent nearly twelve years as a senior advisor in regulation, initially at the FSA/FCA and latterly at the PRA/Bank of England. He is presently a non-executive director of consumer lending business,Together Personal Finance and was previously a non-executive of Skandia Insurance Group for six years.
- The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has appointed Melissa Collett as its new professional standards director, leading its professional standards, ethics and conduct activity. She also takes responsibility for the CII’s legal affairs and risk management.
