Gatehouse Bank announces investment grade rating from Moody’s

Gatehouse Bank has received an investment grade rating from Moody’s Investor Service.

The credit rating agency has assigned Gatehouse an investment grade credit rating of Baa3 BCA with a long-term stable outlook.

Gatehouse is a Shariah-compliant ethical bank, based in London, Milton Keynes and Wilmslow. It offers a range of ethical savings products as well as finance for UK residential and commercial real estate.

This is the first credit rating the bank has received, with Moody’s citing several factors in support of the rating. These factors include the bank’s role as a “growing” Islamic compliant bank in the UK, a “solid” capital base and “good liquidity profile”.

Gatehouse CEO, Charles Haresnape, said that the rating from Moody’s reflects the bank’s growth over the last five years.

“The investment rating demonstrates confidence in the bank’s vision to continue to progress and provide innovative, ethical products to help customers realise their financial goals,” Haresnape commented. “We are delighted to have received this recognition which is a testament to the hard work of our growing team and further supports our credibility in the UK banking market.”
