CWP adds £68m in assets through new acquisitions

Clifton Wealth Partnership (CWP) has acquired Banyard Independent Advice Services and Wilcox Financial Planning, both based in South Wales.

The deals add £68m in assets under management (AUM) and more than 300 clients as the financial planning and wealth management firm continues its acquisition strategy.

Expanding the Bristol-based company's presence in South Wales, they represent the latest in a line of CWP acquisitions of 2026.

Banyard Independent Advice Services, founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Mark and Jane Banyard, manages around £22m in assets for approximately 80 clients.

Wilcox Financial Planning, established in 2015 by Gerwyn Wilcox, oversees around £46m in assets for roughly 250 clients.

The owners of both firms will remain with the business for a two-year transition period to support clients through the handover.

Following the transactions, Clifton Asset Management, the wider group of that CWP is part of, manages more than £4bn in assets.

Anthony Carty, managing director of Clifton Wealth Partnership, said: "Both firms did their homework before choosing Clifton and spoke to advisers who’d already joined us. That kind of due diligence is as important to us as it does to them, and we’re looking forward to supporting both teams and their clients across South Wales, as well as growing our presence in the region."

Already this year, CWP had acquired Cutting & Carter in April, which added around 500 clients and £60m AUM, Dukes IFA in May 2026, adding around 170 client households and £43m AUM, and Morgan Law Financial Services in July, bringing in 500 clients and £138m in AUM.
