The Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) has welcomed its hundredth associate member with the addition of Knowledge Bank.
The mortgage criteria search platform is designed to help intermediaries place cases more easily and efficiently.
Knowledge Bank's system enables users to search across multiple criteria categories and compare lender requirements, helping to streamline case placement and support better customer outcomes.
The BDLA represents the interests of bridging and development lenders and their customers. Knowledge Bank’s appointment marks its hundredth appointment and the association has now reached the largest membership in its history.
The trade association also has 55 lender members, representing a collective loan book of more than £13.7bn.
Chief executive officer at the BDLA, Adam Tyler, said: "Reaching 100 members across lenders and associates is a big achievement and an important milestone. When I first collected data for the bridging industry in 2005, we measured the market at around £300m. The latest data from the BDLA members is closer to £14bn, which is a real credit to everyone who has been involved over that period and, as we all know, it is still growing.
"The role of data and technology in supporting brokers, improving efficiency and strengthening decision-making across the sector is also growing. Associate members play a valuable role in our ecosystem, and we look forward to Knowledge Bank’s contribution as we continue to promote best practice and strengthen our sector’s voice."
Sales director at Knowledge Bank, Shane Chawatama, added: "We’re really pleased to join the BDLA as an associate member and delighted to become the hundredth member of this growing trade association. The BDLA provides a strong platform for collaboration and for sharing insight that supports the industry’s continued growth and evolution.
"With our imminent move to add development finance as the eight lending type available to brokers, the timing couldn’t be better. We’re happy that we can align ourselves with a trade body that represents such an important part of the specialist property finance market and look forward to engaging with members and contributing to the work the association is doing."
