MAB adds Gable Mortgages to lender panel

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has added Gable Mortgages to its lender panel, giving advisers access to 100% loan-to-value (LTV) mortgage options for borrowers who can afford monthly repayments but have struggled to save a deposit.

Gable, which operates across England and Wales, offers two five-year fixed-rate zero-deposit mortgages, including an Own New product for new-build homes and a product for existing properties.

The lender said its proposition was designed to help first-time buyers (FTBs), renters, next-time buyers and home movers whose circumstances have changed, as well as employed and self-employed applicants.

MAB, whose advisers have access to mortgage options from over 90 lenders and more than 12,000 mortgage products, said the addition would give advisers another option for customers facing deposit constraints, particularly as rising rents, living costs and house prices have made saving for a deposit more difficult.

Felicity Barnett, new build and affordable housing partnerships manager at MAB, said: “Deposit is consistently the biggest barrier we see for people trying to buy a new home, whether that's a first-time buyer who's spent years renting, or a next-time buyer whose equity doesn't stretch as far as it used to.

"We're seeing an increasing number of advisers working closely with developers to structure deals around affordability rather than deposit size, and that's exactly the space Gable is built for. It's a strong option to have alongside the rest of our new build lending panel."

Lisa Crane, mortgage operations director at Gable Mortgages, added: “This launch reflects our shared commitment to helping more first-time buyers onto the property ladder, while giving MAB brokers a valuable new solution for clients who can afford the monthly mortgage repayments but may not have a substantial deposit.”
