News in brief - 10 September 2026

Atom bank has reduced rates across its residential mortgage range.

Rates on the bank’s near prime range and the majority of its prime mortgage range have been cut by 0.10%, and as a result, rates now start from 5.19% on prime 85% LTV products and near prime at 60% LTV.

The reductions follow recent enhancements to Atom’s lending criteria, including reducing the minimum household income required for customers to qualify for borrowing five times income.

Nivo has relaunched its website to help brokers assess how AI could reduce the time and cost of gathering, checking and chasing documents, with full pricing and a sample case report.

The new site gives broker firms the information they need to judge how the Nivo Collect service could work in their business before committing to a sales call. Brokers can review a complete example of the checked evidence pack and case analysis.

Nivo Collect gives each brokerage its own AI assistant that works over email, gathering and checking the evidence needed to support a mortgage application. Brokers simply email in a case, with the assistant then identifying what is required, collecting documents, identity evidence and searches from every applicant, and chasing anything outstanding. The service checks the information supplied against what applicants have declared and returns a checked evidence pack ready for submission.

Landbay has reduced rates across its core buy-to-let range, with cuts of up to 0.20%.

The reductions apply across 19 of its 75% LTV two- and five-year fixed products, covering both its standard core and core AVM options and offering brokers a choice of variable fee structures.

As a result, its core and core AVM two-year fixes at 4.09% with a 5% fee, and 5.59% with a 2% fee. Five-year fixes start from 4.94% and 5.74% with a 6% and 2% fee respectively.
