Aegon UK has been accepted as a signatory to the UK Financial Reporting Council’s UK Stewardship Code. The UK Stewardship Code is a set of voluntary principles that aim to improve the quality of stewardship practices by asset owners, managers and service providers. In order to become a signatory, organisations must clearly demonstrate that they have exercised effective stewardship over the previous 12 months through good governance and active engagement which has helped to generate long-term positive impacts for the economy, the environment and/or society.

NS&I has released new issues of its one-year fixed rate guaranteed growth bonds and guaranteed income bonds, which are now available to new and existing customers. The new issue offers savers 6.20% gross/AER for one-year fixed rate guaranteed growth bonds and 6.03% gross/6.20% AER for guaranteed income bonds. These rates are now the highest offered products across NS&I’s range, with interest rates also being increased for existing customers with two-, three- and five-year bonds when their current holding reaches maturity.

The Landlord Leaders Community has launched its mission statement, outlining its aims to drive positive change for a sustainable and thriving private rented sector. Following the inaugural Landlord Leaders Community event, which was convened by OSB Group, the thoughts and insights of key stakeholders were distilled into a mission statement which presents the purpose and goal of the community in light of the current state of the private rented sector, as well as the future outlook. The community will continue to bring the industry together, promote professionalism, foster closer tenant/landlord relationship, encourage fairness and transparency and to spread a positive message about the future of the private rented sector.
