Landbay has made more than 80 changes to its product range, which includes a host of rate reductions, with rates starting from 4.09%. Rates have been cut by up to 0.20% across a range of products, which include Landbay’s two-year fixed rate range for standard properties and two and five-year fixed rates for HMOs and MUFBs. The two-year like for like remortgage products, for landlords with no change to their borrowing requirements, have been lowered by up to 0.20%. Eversheds Sutherland has advised Resolution Life, the long-term legacy life insurance solutions provider, on its first reinsurance agreement in the UK. This agreement, which reinsures the longevity and asset risks associated with UK pension liabilities of a leading UK-regulated insurer, also enables Resolution Re, Resolution Life’s Bermudian reinsurance platform, to complete more deals in the UK at a time of accelerating growth in the buyout market. Eversheds Sutherland and Resolution Re used their understanding of both Bermudian and UK regimes to complete the agreement. Resolution Re worked closely with its regulator in Bermuda to develop a funded reinsurance structure.

Mettle, the free business bank account built for the self-employed by NatWest, now offers the account software FreeAgent’s tax calculation in-app. This integration within a business bank account will give the self-employed a real-time view of the tax they owe. The tax calculation, which is available for free to all Mettle customers whose accounts are connected with FreeAgent, will take the guesswork out of how much tax they are likely to owe each year. As a customer completes their bookkeeping tasks such as categorising transactions and uploading receipts in both the Mettle app and their FreeAgent account, the latter will work in the background to calculate the taxes relevant to their business. Once the tasks are completed, Mettle will sync the information with the FreeAgent account and upload the receipt to their transaction.
