Raindrop reunites savers with £2bn in lost pensions

Raindrop has said that since the launch of its pension-finding technology in 2020, it has recovered 230,000 lost or dormant pension pots for UK savers, valued at over £2bn.

In 2026 alone, the pension-finding platform’s technology has tracked down almost £1bn from 133,000 pots by working with some of the UK’s largest financial providers, including AJ Bell, Monzo and Mylo from Aegon.

The latest update from Raindrop comes after the Office for National Statistics estimated that the value of dormant assets lies at around £550bn, while research from the Pensions Policy Institute showed that £31.1bn is estimated to be sitting in around 3.3 million lost pension pots.

Co-founder and chief commercial officer at Raindrop, Vivan Shridharani, said: "There is huge demand for simple pension-finding tools that empower people to regain control of their retirement savings. Dormant assets are a major issue which Raindrop is tackling through its partnerships with some of the UK’s largest pension providers – this approach has already reunited customers with billions of pounds in savings but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

"To enhance support for customers and boost consolidation, pension providers and financial institutions are working tirelessly to streamline the tracing process and boost engagement. Tools such as Raindrop’s platform play a critical role in this and we have an ambitious product innovation roadmap which will deliver even greater support over the coming months."
