Hinckley & Rugby Building Society partners with SBS to launch mobile app

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has partnered with software provider SBS to launch a fully integrated mobile app.

SBS, a technology partner to more than 1,500 financial institutions worldwide, has supported Hinckley & Rugby through a staged, multi-faceted implementation process dating back to 2022.

The tech firm first supported Hinckley & Rugby through an upgrade encompassing its core system and the move to cloud, before implementing a member savings portal and broker portal. This was done alongside Hinckley and Rugby’s rebrand, which was unveiled in 2024.

The mobile self-service capabilities will allow Hinckley & Rugby’s members, which number over 50,000, to manage their savings and mortgage details, make deposits, and seamlessly view statements.

“We are looking to working with SBS to see how we can continue to further enhance the user journey and evolve the digitization program for the benefit of our members,” Hinckley & Rugby CEO, Barry Carter, commented.

General manager, UK lending at SBS, Jonathan Davis, added: “The latest development in our partnership with Hinckley & Rugby establishes a foundation for delivering class-leading mobile engagement experiences to their members, ensuring they remain a central part of their community for many years ahead.”
