News in brief - 22 October 2025

Atom bank has added two new roles to its mortgage team, following the official opening of its new headquarters in Newcastle. The bank’s commercial mortgage team has added a delivery lead, as its looks to innovate its commercial lending process and build of improvements to its processing commercial cases. The residential team will be expanded through the recruitment of an associate pricing and trade manager. This role will focus on helping to manage pricing strategies and ensuring Atom continues to offer value within the market.

Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has appointed Paula Priest as business development manager (BDM) in its specialist mortgage team, working to support brokers across the Midlands. She brings more than 35 years’ experience to the role and joins from Birmingham Bank, where she was national account manager, following senior roles at Foundation Home Loans, The Mortgage Lender and Barclays. Priest will report to HTB's sales director for specialist mortgages and bridging finance, Andrea Glasgow, and will manage her own portfolio of brokers across the region alongside Annie Crust.

Just Mortgages has appointed Alan Finney as divisional sales director for its specialist new build and shared ownership division. With more than 30 years of experience, he joins the firm from Coventry Building Society, where he worked as an adviser from 2003 before later joining the mortgage leadership team in 2009. Over 15 years, starting as head of intermediaries, Finney played a role during a period of growth and transformation for the building society. In 2012, he became head of director mortgages, before taking up the role as head of mortgage transformation. In his new role at Just Mortgages, Finney will manage the specialist new build and shared ownership arm of the national brokerage.
