News in brief - 23 October 2024

James Hoskins has been appointed as area manager at Just Mortgages. Based in Bristol, he will be responsible for supporting and mentoring self-employed brokers in the region and into the midlands. Hoskins will work closely with advisers to support their day-to-day duties, while helping firms to develop their business plans and explore growth opportunities. He joins Just Mortgages from Countrywide, where he most recently served as regional sales manager. He has also worked as a mortgage adviser at NatWest, before moving to the role of area mortgage manager, a role in which he’d serve for over five years.

Alternative Bridging Corporation has promoted Zack Cohen to the role of internal business development manager (BDM). He joined the firm earlier this year as an intern, where he gained hands-on experience within the property finance industry, shadowing senior sales agents and working directly with brokers. As internal BDM, Cohen will continue to leverage his skills to help the business further its mission of providing tailored solutions to the property market.

London Credit has launched a pilot of its development finance product, offering up to 70% LTGDV, which will be used to refine the proposition ahead of its full launch. As part of the pilot, the firm will provide finance on a small number of schemes to refine its lending and service proposition and ensure that it meets the needs of brokers and their clients before a controlled launch to the whole broker market. This proposition follows the recruitment of Jake McCausland to the role of head of development finance, as the firm looked to expand into development lending.
