News in brief - 24 August 2026

Hope Capital Property Finance has recorded the lowest number of loan defaults in its history, while resolving loans 30% faster and managing 50% more mortgage redemptions year-on-year.

The specialist lender’s results follow a significant investment in proactive borrower support, alongside the continued growth of its lending capacity through several institutional funding lines.

Hope Capital said these developments demonstrate its ability to scale its business while maintaining a strong credit performance and service level for borrowers and brokers.

United Trust Bank (UTB) has expanded its bridging proposition by introducing new standard and near prime ranges and the return of heavy refurbishment finance. Its bridging rates start from 0.57% per month.

Its enhanced proposition has been shaped by broker feedback and is designed to give intermediaries more options across a wider range of borrower circumstances, property types and transaction complexities.

A key addition is UTB’s new near prime bridging range, available across both regulated and non-regulated bridging finance. The new products are designed to bridge the gap between standard and more specialist lending, enabling UTB to consider borrowers with historic credit events which may fall outside typical bridging lending criteria.
