Corey Whelan has been appointed as business development manager (BDM) for the south of England at Norton Home Loans. He brings a background in both the mortgage and equity release sectors to the role, having served as equity release adviser at Age Partnership, director and lead mortgage adviser at The Mortgage Broker and director/principal at Cambridgeshire Money. As part of the BDM role, Whelan will provide guidance on Norton’s product range, assist brokers with complex cases and foster strong relationships to help brokers achieve the best outcomes for their clients.

PEXA has appointed Nitesh Thadani as its new UK chief technology officer to drive the development of its technology platform in 2025. He brings over 20 years of experience to the role, having worked and delivered integrations with lenders including NatWest and Nationwide. Thadani joins PEXA from Mojo Mortgages, where he served as interim director of engineering. He has also worked for and consulted with global organisations including ThoughtWorks, Barclays, McKinsey, British Gas and Smartr365.

Hanley Economic Building Society has announced that it is introducing a weekly broker case discussion forum in order to offer brokers direct access to the society’s key underwriting decision-makers. The half-hour sessions, which are held every Tuesday over Microsoft Teams, offer brokers an opportunity to discuss their most challenging cases with Hanley’s underwriting team leader and head of commercial performance. Brokers are also able to receive real time guidance when deal with self-build mortgages, shared ownership, retirement interest-only cases or other intricate scenarios.
