First Mortgage acquires Home Loan Services (Glasgow)

First Mortgage has further enhanced its presence in the Scottish housing market by acquiring Home Loan Services (Glasgow).

The Scottish firm, which has specialised in the new build sector for 17 years, will retain its current team and operating model to ensure continuity for housebuilders, sales teams and homebuyers.

Both firms will remain fully independent, with separate FCA and business registrations, preserving broker choice across the Scottish new build market.

First Mortgage, which is part of Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), said the acquisition reinforces its commitment to the new build sector, combining the scale and expertise of both businesses to enhance insight, capability and resilience, while maintaining their individual propositions.

It added that the deal reflects its ongoing investment in the new build market, which is a key strategic priority for the MAB Group and evidence its commitment to supporting housebuilders and homebuyers across Scotland.

Chief executive officer at First Mortgage, Ian McGrail, stated: "This acquisition represents an important step in strengthening our support for the Scottish new-build market.

"Home Loan Services (Glasgow) Ltd is a highly respected business with longstanding relationships across Scotland’s major housebuilders, and we’re delighted to welcome them into the business, while ensuring they continue to deliver the same high level of service their partners and customers have come to expect."

Managing director at Home Loan Services (Glasgow), Harry McGeough, added: "We’ve worked closely alongside First Mortgage for many years, and this latest move allows us to build on that relationship.

"It’s very much business as usual for our partners and customers, with the same team, the same service, and the same focus on delivering for our builder partners - now with the added benefit of greater scale, investment, and long-term security."
