News in brief - 21 March 2025

Interbay has strengthened its broker support by appointing two specialist account managers (SFAM) and a dedicated office business development manager (BDM). The appointments bring a collective 35 years of specialist finance experience and knowledge to the respective roles. Matthew Butt has joined the firm as a SFAM covering Greater London, with Nick O’Leary joining the firm from Precise/KRFI as a SFAM covering East Anglia. John William has filled the new role of office BDM, following his recent promotion form the broker liaison team.

Bank of Ireland for Intermediaries has launched a series of new products for first-time buyers with cashback incentives. The new range includes a five-year fix at up to 90 and 95% LTV at 5.12% and 5.42% respectively that come with no fee and £1,000, £2,000 and £3,000 cashback options. The lender has also introduced a five-year fixed product, available from 4.94% at up to 85% LTV, with a £995 fee and £3,000 cashback.

YBS Commercial Mortgages has made changes to its processes in order to provide a quicker initial decision for brokers when submitting their cases. The commercial lender has reduced its response time to initial case requests from 48 to 24 hours, meaning that brokers will receive either a yes with indicative terms, or a no answer, within this timeframe. YBS said this will be underpinned by daily collaboration and support from its underwriting teams, which will ensure the right people are in place to review the deal.
