News in brief - 27 January 2025

conveybuddy has appointed Steve Emblem as area manager for the midlands. He will be responsible for introducing conveybuddy to mortgage brokers and property professionals across the region, driving engagement with the platform and delivering support to intermediaries in the region. Emblem brings over a decade of experience in financial services and conveyancing, having held senior business development roles at Reed Rains and Broker Conveyancing.

Paragon Bank has launched a new buy-to-let mortgage origination platform, as it aims to deliver a “faster, smarter and more flexible” application experience for intermediaries. The system, which has been developed over the past two years with input from brokers, draws data from a range of sources to pre-populate application details. The platform tailors application requirements to each case, with information only requested once. Paragon also uses AI to support underwriters by extracting, analysing and validating for their review. Intermediaries can upload their client’s property schedule for improved validation, for the schedule stored for returning customers, reducing the documentation required for future applications.

LiveMore has appointed two new key account managers for the north and midlands respectively and has also appointed a new mortgage underwriter. Claire Aston has been appointed as key account manager for the midlands, bringing over 20 years of experience in client relationship management and strategic account growth. Aaron Farrell joins the firm as key account director for the north, having worked in financial services for more than 15 years. Leah Chiakli has joined LiveMore as a new mortgage underwriter, having worked in the industry for the past four years. In this time, she has gained experience across first and second charge mortgages.
