News in brief - 4 August 2025

LendInvest Mortgages has appointed Rod McPherson as its new head of distribution. He brings over two decades of experience in the UK property market to the role, most notably in Scotland, where he has worked as business development manager (BDM) for Scotland since joining LendInvest since 2023. As part of the role, McPherson will oversee the relationships that the firm has cultivated with 30-plus mortgage clubs and networks. Furthermore, the lender has created a new patch in East London for its BDM, Paige Archer. Her new territory will include Romford, Southend-on-Sea, Bromley, Dartford and South West London.

Hinckley & Rugby for Intermediaries has expanded its residential mortgage lending into mainland Scotland. As a result, brokers in Scotland can now access the society’s full range of residential mortgage products, including income flex, credit flex, core and more. The launch is initially available through PMS Mortgage Club and Sesame Network, with wider distribution planned at the end of summer. The move forms part of a broader growth strategy by the lender to support brokers in undeserved areas and increase access to flexible, manually underwritten lending. As a result, Scottish borrowers will have the same access to propositions already available across England and Wales.

Mark Foulsham has been appointed as a non-executive director at Chetwood Bank. He brings more than 30 years of experience in IT, operations and third-party procurement to the role. Foulsham has worked across a number of senior executive roles, overseeing digital and capital investment programmes at South East Water, SAUR UK and Macquarie Bank. He has also held a number of non-executive roles at Cobweb, Leeds Credit Union and Franklin Music. He joins the UK-based digital challenger bank after the company announced that its balance sheet exceeded £5bn for the first time.
