Paradigm Protect adds Bupa to PMI panel

Paradigm Protect has added Bupa to its private medical insurance (PMI) panel, allowing member firms full access to Bupa’s personal insurance products.

Members of the directly authorised protection proposition, which is part of Paradigm Mortgage Services, will now be able to access services and benefits including access to a digital GP or nurse 24/7 and a choice of private hospitals.

Other benefits include extensive mental health cover which includes ongoing support, no time limits and coverage for more conditions than any other insurer, and access to breakthrough cancer drugs and treatments, often before they are available on the NHS.

Clients can choose between two health insurance options within its Bupa By You product, comprehensive cover, which include private diagnosis and treatment, or treatment and care cover which offers private treatment following a diagnosis.

Advisers can manage all their individual clients via Bupa’s consumer intermediary portal, where they can find further information on products and services; can offer FMU, moratorium, switch and XGS quotes to clients; submit applications and upload supporting documents; and access important literature and documentation.

Director of protection at Paradigm, Mike Allison, said: "With the healthcare landscape changing significantly in a post-COVID world, there has been a growing demand from Paradigm member firms to have increased support in this area in order to support an increasing need from their clients.

"We are therefore very pleased to be broadening our PMI panel by adding Bupa to it today, who bring with them a world-class proposition, known throughout the country, and a raft of services and benefits to both advisers and their clients."

Head of consumer intermediary for Bupa UK Insurance, Jordan Ayrey, added: "We're pleased to be partnering with Paradigm to help bring Bupa’s services and benefits to advisers and their clients, extending our reach in the intermediary market."
