Mortgage Engine appoints new CTO

Mortgage Engine has announced the appointment of Kieran Park as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Park has stepped up to the role after seven months at Mortgage Engine as software engineering manager, where he helped build the fintech firm’s in-house tech teams as well as enhance the speed and efficiency of its application programming interface (API) technology.

As CTO, the fintech firm suggested Park will lead its technology teams to integrate more lenders with its API platform and connect new distributors, enabling intermediaries to access multi-DIPs through a single application.

Park said: “We have had a market shift in recent years towards tech adoption, as financial firms have started to understand and appreciate how technology can improve their service offering. This has been accelerated during the coronavirus crisis as businesses have needed to adapt to meet new challenges and models of working.

“As technology has developed in recent years, so have the delivery concepts. It has become much easier to harness technology by implementing small changes quickly, at lower cost and crucially, with less risk. This enables more enterprises to move in the right direction: improving the efficiency of their systems and empowering their colleagues to perform more specialist, value add roles.

“The mortgage market is still operating in a time of crisis. We are working to streamline the application process and enable brokers to spend more time advising customers, generating new business and guiding their teams on the road to recovery.”

Mortgage Engine, led by managing director, Cloë Atkinson, has grown its team to 30 members since its launch in November 2019.

Atkinson added: “Kieran has unrivalled expertise in this area and we’re delighted to have him on board as CTO. He will play a vital role in integrating more lenders with our API platform, connecting new intermediary partners and working to drive efficiency in the mortgage application process.”
