News in brief – 10 September 2025

Gatehouse Bank has expanded its buy-to-let (BTL) product offering for UK residents to include 5% and 7% product fee options available on two-year and five-year fixed term products. Following the updates, Gatehouse will now offer BTL rental rates for UK residents starting from 3.39%.

YBS Commercial Mortgages has increased the loan-to-value on its semi-commercial range from 70% to 75%, designed specifically for part-residential, part commercial assets. The lender has also introduced a new product, available up to 55% LTV, priced at 5.50% for a five-year fix with a 2% fee.

Chetwood Bank has appointed Alan Cleary as interim managing director of its mortgages division. He will take over in the role from Andrew Arwas, who has stepped down. Cleary, who has worked in specialist lending for more than 30 years, was named as chair of Chetwood Bank’s mortgage advisory board in 2024.
