News in brief - 21 October 2025

Nucleus Financial Platforms has promoted Mike Regan into the newly created role of deputy chief executive officer (CEO). He joined the firm in 2022, initially as chief financial officer, and is currently serving as chief commercial officer. In the new role, Regan will retain his current responsibilities and will provide support to CEO, Richard Rowney, in leading the business and developing group strategy. Regan has played a role in driving the group’s transformation, which includes the acquisition and integration of Curtis Banks and, more recently, Third Financial.

Shashi Bhat has been appointed chairman at digital transformation, software and business process outsourcing provider, Target Group. He brings more than three decades of experience in financial services, building sector knowledge and expertise across sales and operations, business strategy and digital transformation. Bhat worked for nearly two decades at Citibank over two stints, where he served as head of digital banking for the EMEA region. He left Citi in 2017 to start his own consultancy, working with a range of clients including tier one banks, wealth management firms and start-up organisations. In his new role, Bhat will help Target build on its growth, working to achieve its strategic objectives and deliver value to customers.

conveybuddy has appointed Laila Khan as a new sales support manager. As part of the role, she will support the conveyancing distributor’s account management team, ensuring they have the management support required to support business growth. Khan brings extensive experience to the role, having led an account management team and worked closely with brokers and conveyancers to develop strong relationships. She previously worked with conveybuddy’s directors at their former business, where she developed her ability to train team members.
