7IM has appointed Nicky Snow as business development manager (BDM) for the north west to reinforce its support for advisers in the region. She brings over 35 years of experience in the sector, most recently as BDM for M&G Wealth, with previous roles at Rowanmoor and Legal & General in national account business development positions. In her new role, Snow will work with financial planners across the north west to identify opportunities for 7IM to deliver tailored investment solutions, technology and service to support them and their clients.

Oliver Laird has been appointed as non-executive director at Shepherds Friendly. His appointment comes as the firm embarks on a period of growth and development as its prepares for its bicentennial in 2026. Laird brings over 20 years’ experience across the retail, financial services and manufacturing sectors, having worked as chief financial officer at Lookers PLC and First Direct Bank, director of finance at Lloyds Banking Group and finance director at Co-Op Insurance Services.

Loughborough Building Society has increased the LTV on its 5.5x income multiple calculation from 85% to 95% LTV for residential borrowers who meet its affordability requirements. The criteria change aims to enhance borrowing potential, particularly for self-employed individuals who may benefit from using their last year’s accounts, as well as higher income applicants seeking more flexibility in their mortgage options. The society has also maintained its flexible approach to credit history, retaining its potential to disregard any defaults which have been resolved over two years and CCJs settled over three years.
