Accord Mortgages has cut rates on both its residential and buy-to-let (BTL) products. The new range for residential borrowers offers reductions of up to 0.23% on 75% and 80% LTV products, with 0.20% cuts to its 85% and 90% LTV products. As a result, its five-year fix at 75% LTV starts at 4.09% with a £495 fee, while its two-year first-time buyer 90% LTV fix starts at 4.41% with a £495 fee and £500 cashback. On its BTL range, ranges have been cut by 0.20% on 65% and 80% LTV products, while 75% LTV rates have been reduced by 0.22%. As a result, its 80% LTV five-year fix starts from 4.88% with a £995 fee and free standard valuation, while its two-year remortgage fix at 75% LTV is available from 4.18% with a £995 fee, free standard valuation and remortgage legal service.

Barclays has reduced rates across its mortgage product range. As a result, its premier two-year fix has been lowered to 3.72%, while its standard two-year now starting from 3.73%, both with a £899 product fee. On its £899 product fee five-year range, rates start from 3.97% on its premier product, while its standard five-year fix starts at 3.98%. On its green home two-year product, rates now start from 3.83% with no fee, while its five-year fix start at 3.88% with an £899 fee. All products listed are available from 60% LTV.

Paragon Bank has strengthened its BTL mortgages underwriting function by appointing Michael Maynard as a mobile underwriter. As part of the role, he will visit select broker firms to manage new business and underwrite cases. Paragon said that Maynard’s role will provide brokers with a face-to-face contact with the decision maker, as well as a link to its wider underwriting team. The role also gives brokers an additional layer of support as Maynard can assist brokers through the application process, seeing cases from enquiry to offer. He brings more than an decade of industry experience to the role and joins Paragon from Fleet Mortgages, where he held senior telephone and hybrid business development manager roles.
