Quilter Academy partners with FutureProof Pro and Life After Professional Sport

The Quilter Academy, the financial adviser training arm of Quilter, has launched a partnership with FutureProof Pro to help sports professionals find second careers.

FutureProof Pro is a careers support service that provides personalised development to help individuals transition into a suitable job sector following a sporting career.

The Quilter Academy has also partnered with Life After Professional Sports (LAPS), which offer a careers platform, advice, networking and job opportunities for sports professionals.

Through both partnerships, the Quilter Academy said it hopes to further attract professional athletes, sports professionals and individuals from other specialist backgrounds to join the financial advice industry.

“We are excited to partner with FutureProof Pro, which is a great organisation committed to helping sports professionals in their careers after they leave sport,” director of the Quilter Academy, Chris Jones, said.

“Similarly, our partnership with LAPS presents a fantastic opportunity to help spread the word about how fulfilling a career in advice can be. Many sporting professionals are unaware they possess qualities essential for financial advice, such as good communication, self-discipline, leadership skills, and resilience.”

Co-founder of FutureProof Pro, James Hitchman, commented: “Many athletes are drawn to becoming financial advisers as the role taps into their strengths. There are many athletes across all sports thriving in this market.”

MD of LAPS and former professional footballer, Robbie Simpson, added: “We know that the financial services industry is one that former elite athletes excel in, and we’re pleased to be able to introduce them to an organisation of Quilter’s reputation.”
