The Brightstar Group certified carbon neutral

The Brightstar Group has revealed that it has become certified as a carbon neutral business by Carbon Neutral Britain.

Last year, the Brightstar Group, which includes Brightstar Financial and Sirius Property Finance, partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to calculate carbon emissions across the group.

These emissions have since been calculated and offset via the woodland fund portfolio of carbon offsetting projects around the world.

Carbon Neutral Britain is the UK’s carbon offsetting initiative, set up to help UK individuals and businesses make an impact on climate change. Founded in 2020, the organisation has since expanded and its projects have now offset more than 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide and planted over three million trees.

By accurately calculating and offsetting its carbon emissions, the Brightstar Group is now certified as carbon neutral business by Carbon Neutral Britain and will also receive a carbon reduction plan (CRP) to help it to reduce future emissions.

Group COO at the Brightstar Group, William Lloyd-Hayward, commented: “We are delighted to once again be leading the way within the specialist distribution sector in achieving this landmark carbon neutral status for the Brightstar Group.

“A huge thank you and well done to our carbon neutral working group, led by Ben Hall, who has brought together people from across Brightstar and Sirius in a collaborative effort to achieve this status for the group.

“ESG isn’t just an acronym to us, it is a thread that runs through the culture in our business. This is just the beginning for us as we now focus on how we can continue to make a real and genuine positive impact on our environment.”
