News in brief - 17 November 2025

Primis has appointed four new members to its sales team, comprising three regional sales directors and a regional sales manager. Mark Rookyard has joined as regional sales director for the South East, bringing a wealth of experience spanning business development and national account management. Fran Green has been appointed as regional sales director for the North West and the West Midlands, having worked across intermediary and network distribution. Ian Merriman joins Primis as regional sales director covering the East Midlands and the East. He joins after holding senior manager roles at three UK mortgage and protection networks and a leading UK intermediary lender. Finally, Harrison Avery has been appointed as regional sales manager to support brokers in the South West.

Sally Veitch has joined the board at Afin Bank as an independent non-executive director (NED). She brings a wealth of experience in financial services, including current board positions with SME lender, LHV Bank, and mortgage provider, Perenna. Veitch has also held NED roles with Tipton & Coseley Building Society, Redwood Bank and Market Harborough Building Society. She also brings retail expertise to her new role, having spent over 13 years at Home Retail Group, including nearly four years as financial director for its financial and customer services division.

Inspired Lending has provided a £1.8m facility to a repeat borrower to support the purchase and refurbishment of a large nine-bedroom Grade II-listed manor house in the Cotswolds. The building was acquired for £1m and the borrower required an additional £1m to modernise and refurbish the main residence. The specialist short-term lender advanced £650,000 towards the purchase and is funding 100% of the refurbishment costs in tranches. Upon completion of the works, the property is expected to achieve a GDV of £2.75m.
