News in brief - 21 January 2025

Market Financial Solutions has promoted 54 team members, with several individuals appointed to senior management positions. Karen Rodrigues, previously head of sales since January 2024, has been promoted to chief sales officer. Richard Saunders and Thomas Gill have been named as regional sales managers, while Devyn Grantham, George Collins, and Jonathan Williams have all been appointed as business development executive team leaders. Leah Brunskill, who has been at the company since 2019, has also been named deputy chief of marketing.

StreamBank has appointed Aiman Maklad as its new business development manager (BD) for London and the south. He brings a wealth of experience in the financial services sector to the role, having held key roles at Blue Square Capital, KSEYE and Tide. In the new role, Maklad will focus on strengthening relationships with brokers in London and the south, ensuring they receive guidance and assistance. He will also play a pivotal role in promoting StreamBank’s lending products, keeping brokers informed about market developments and collaborating with intermediaries to help them meet their clients’ needs.

Alison Radley and Kristy Barr have been appointed as co-heads of retail investments at Octopus Investments. As part of their new roles, they will be responsible for creating, owning and delivering Octopus’s retail business strategy. Barr joined the firm in September 2021 as distribution director, bringing experience in sales and client management within the asset management industry. She will also continue to lead the customer and sales team. Radley also joined Octopus in 2021, after a 10-year career in the banking industry. She most recently served as chief of staff, responsible for a number of key business functions such as strategy, transformation, marketing and communications.
