The Land Registry has announced that it will resume its publication of the UK House Price Index, following the suspension of the index in May.
April 2020’s index is set to be published on 19 August, followed by a schedule that will see interim releases published in September, with a view to resuming normal publication in October with the publication of the August 2020 index.
The schedule will ensure the Land Registry can use as many transactions as possible in each of the suspended periods, following the issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initial release will not contain heatmaps and this will subsequently be reviewed on a release by release basis, the Land Registry stated.
