The Right Mortgage & Protection Network and DA Club has announced the appointment of Tom Fish as protection development manager. His role will support all member firms to ensure they secure the most out of the protection opportunities that exist and the full range of products advisers have access to through The Right Mortgage. Fish joins from The Right Advice, where he was a protection adviser, supporting individuals, families and businesses to ensure they had the right cover. He previously worked in a similar role at Strathon Park Financial from 2016 to 2022 and has also worked extensively within the estate and lettings agency sector.

Market Financial Solutions (MFS) is to provide a full refund on valuation fees for its bridging customers for cases that are agreed before the end of March and complete before the end of April. The refund will be issued within 28 days of the drawdown of a bridging loan. The waiving of valuation fees will apply across all its bridging products – residential, commercial and semi-commercial – up to a maximum valuation of £10m. MFS’ initiative is just for loans placed by brokers and will cover physical valuations and the refund is applicable to one standard lender valuation per security property. To qualify, the borrower must sign and return their decision in principle document by the end of March 2024 and the loan must be drawn down by the end of the following April.

Evelyn Partners has appointed Edwin Park as its new chief asset management officer. As part of the senior leadership team, he will also become a member of the group executive committee. He joins the wealth management group, which manages £59.1bn of client assets, from Brooks Macdonald, where he worked for 15 years, latterly as chief investment officer and a member of the executive committee. As part of the role, he will have more overall accountability for the group’s centrally managed investment propositions, including its extensive range of pooled funds and suite of managed portfolio services strategies which cater for a range of risk and goal profiles.
