News in brief - 7 August 2024

Buckinghamshire Building Society has reduced rates on its self-build range, available via BuildLoan up to 0.25%, plus increased its self-building maximum range to £1m. Rates now start from 6.49% on its self-build advance two-year discount, and its self-build arrears two-year discount now starts at 6.35%, down from 6.59% and 6.49% respectively. The lender’s self-build advance no early repayment charge two-year discount now starts at 6.54% from 6.79%. Buckinghamshire has also increased the maximum loan size from £500,000 to £1m on properties located across England and Wales.

Hinckley & Rugby for Intermediaries has appointed David Jackson as national account manager. He has joined from Gen H, where he held the role of business development manager (BDM). Jackson has also held roles at firms including Metro Bank, The Mortgage Lender and TAB, and also ran his own brokerage for two years. As national account manager, he will work to grow existing broker relationships, whilst establishing new broker connections for the society. The lender has also promoted Lisa Paxton to the role of BDM from telephone BDM.

InterBay has made significant changes across its semi-commercial and commercial product ranges. On the lender’s new commercial core range, it now offers new limited edition remortgage products, new 1% cashback products and the lowest rate across its entire range, standing at 7.09%. The semi-commercial core range also offers the same as the commercial core range, with the lowest rate available standing at 6.09%.
